Grown from seed in July last year, it has done very well in this position over summer, it was extremely lush and only needed occasional supplemental watering.
Fast forward to about 2 months ago when I noticed little bites out of most of the foliage, there are tiny slugs through it but I didn’t want to put pellets down until I caved today.
There’s also a lot of balled up soil (about the size of a small marble) that seem to have been pushed up by something in the ground. We have a ton of earthworms seemingly everywhere I dig a hole so not sure if it’s them or something else.
The dead patches just spontaneously died off, I haven’t put anything in the garden other than water and the slug bait today. The second photo shows a new patch that’s struggling and will probably end up completely dead like the first photo.
Thanks in advance for any help 🙂
Edit: Brisbane area, gets direct sun for about 3hrs a day.
Edit the second: That’s an old broken water feature, it was placed there after the Dichondra died off.

I don’t like using baits at all
What’s the trio of pipe things?
if i had to guess it would be cutworms
Do you walk on it to get to the tube thing? Edit: water feature
I find it’s a very fussy plant. It doesn’t like to be under or over watered. I killed mine from overwatering.
Too much water from the water feature?
Depending on if I can get it back to health I was thinking an option would be to rip it out and replace with mulch/native violet…
