I'm not sure how thick the dry topdress needs to be, I figured.its where grass tips begin to stick up.

It's a 2yr rolled grass lawn with 20-40cm new dirt underneath, hense why it's now bumpy and il trying to fix all the unevenness.

The lawn have been cut, verticut, raked for dead thatch, spread fertilizer, spread seeds and now I'm applying topdress.

Is my method on pic 1 correct? And should I water it ?

Location is Denmark. EU

It’s fine. Once you water it will sink down more.

Thanks, it’s a lot of work, so just need to be sure before breaking my back

Yes, but next time get it with less rocks… lol. Doesn’t look like great soil. Compost mix is best to add some organics too.

  4. Should be fine, but IMO that may be a bit too much. Also did you sift out the rocks/clumps? Picture 1 looks ok, but picture 3 I see quite a few. Curious others thoughts as well.

What kind of loam is this? Looks a bit dry and not screened. Having some compost would help

I about to do the same, but I’m going to use a compost tumbler to spread it. Then I’ll use my leveling rake to level it. Seems like less work than spreading around big piles with the leveling rake, but I guess I’ll find out.

If you’re going to overseed, maybe look into those tumblers. They do a great job of evenly spreading peat moss. You could even mix the seed in with the peat.

I would take a hard rake through and stand some grass back up, but it looks good.
