The Cheshire estate is composed of 1,000 acres of deer park, ornamental gardens,a working farm and adventure playgrounds, offering ample room for people planning a picnic. You can choose to grab a spot by the water, relax in the cool shade under the trees or bask in the sun.
Visitors to the park can explore the vast grounds, which include 50 acres of landscaped gardens. Explore the carefully-cultivated Walled Kitchen Garden, the beautiful 100-year-old Japanese garden and the magnificent Pleasure Grounds, where you can experience a maze based on the same format as the one at Hampton Court.
Of course, spring is one of the best times to visit Tatton Park as you can admire all of the gorgeous blossoms and flowers which bloom at this time of the year. Catch some of the late-flowering blossoms in Charlotte’s Garden, the Japanese Garden and the orchard.
Other plants to look out for are geraniums, azaleas, violas, verbenas, and more. Another must-see are the rhododendrons which bloom in mid to late Spring.
