2 weeks ago I applied Jonathan Green weed and feed here in MA. I used a Scott's spreader with edge guard. I see now that they are horrible and cause lines even though I was walking at a quick pace. Should I reapply with a new spreader? Or will that damage the lawn and should I just wait another 4 weeks (6 weeks from 1st application) and do the next round of fertlizer?

I fertilized last year by going back and forth. Had lines. This year i went back & forth and then went side to side over it again and no lines this year.
I wouldn’t go over it again itll be gone in a couple weeks probably. Just do it right next time.

Next time apply half the rate and do two passes. First do the perimeter with the edge guard down, put the guard up, then do a back and forth pattern such that the fertilizer is just barely overlapping where your previous pass reached until the whole thing is covered. Then do the same in the perpendicular direction. You’re much more likely to get an even application this way.
Doing more passes will just make you have more lines. Common problem with Scott’s spreaders. I’ve got an echo rb60 and it’s never given me any issues.
Some people swear by taping the wheels but you’re still going to have the fertilizer that used to hit the wheels now just bounce off and still have uneven spread. If you look at your wheels you’ll probably see fertilizer stuck in there.
[this 3d print](https://www.nicegreenlawn.com) may be a good solution but I can’t personally vouch for it since I’ve got an actual functional spreader and not a torture device posing as a lawn tool.
Edit: if you have a 3d printer, [this](https://www.printables.com/model/527974-scotts-edgeguard-mini-lawn-stripes-complete-fix) looks like it could work too.
Do NOT reapply, it’s not like all the fertilizer fell in lines is just that those lines is where slightly more fertilizer fell.
Chelated Iron. Will green up everything pretty uniformly.
did you have the edge guard “on” the whole time?
This spreader is so stupid, I’ve bought two of them after the first one broke and I have the same issue.
Why do so many have trouble with these Scott applicators? Been using my price of crap for 20 years, never a line or problem.
Ohhhhhhh you have a Scott’s spreader.
Edit: i read the post. Get a hand spreader and apply a half application. Thats what i would do.
You already have leaves falling?
Classic scotts spreader. Edge guard aka lawn striper
Not all Scotts have the hollow wheels which is what most probably caused this.
I have had this model below for the past 7 yrs and no issues.
