I have 2 very large tortoises and knew this was bound to happen. The male is very aggressive and chases the female around and rams into her. I have 6 of these shelves and walked out to bbq dinner and saw this mess. Ugh. At least they didnt eat any of them (which is usually waht happens when one falls down). A lot of them lost their tags so now I have to do some detective work. Get a tortoise they said. It will be fun they said 🤦‍♀️

If only you had a chain to secure the shelf to the column instead of that thin piece of floss.

I‘d like to see a picture of the alleged criminals.

I never imagined damage from rambunctious tortoises

I have a lot of tortoises. I built a cinder block wall to keep the cacti on.

Generally when this happens the last picture is of the accused, simply so we cal all agree that it is innocent 😂

If you’ve got tags and already had them identified then the detective work will be easier.

You need a rat to teach them discipline and kung fu.

On the bright side most of the plants look alright.

Tortoises are like slow goats without horns.

I’m more concerned about the male ramming the female and stressing her, it can run her immune system down.

This isn’t mainly cactuses, but my cat did this earlier to my huge monstera and I had a few casualties as a result (one of them being a cactus 😭)

I’m so so sorry your child is also a menace.

I too would like to see the cutie pie culprits.

You need to separate them immediately. It will only get worse and more violent. We had two marginated tortoise that were fine for years together. The brother started with just bothering her but it got incredibly aggressive quickly where he was biting.

I have already resigned myself to inheriting the three my parents have but I would also like to see the tortoise and volunteer as tribute for adoption.

If the male is so aggressive shouldn’t they be separated?

I’d be crying. I need a shelf like that for mine!

My intro into cactus actually is because I wanted to grow a bunch of cactus pads to feed my 25 yr old sulcata. One thing leads to another and now I’m a proud owner of a bunch of cacti!!

I’m sorry for your mess, but honestly, I’m here for the tortoise photos in the morning.

Bro, you know they hate black right? They would’ve left the black shelves alone.
