Looking to help out my father in law with this huge ficus. It towers above the home and I’m concerned it’s far too close to the house and may cause damage. Help?
Ficuses have the weakest roots and love falling down, im surprised it’s not falling down right now. If this was 15ft from my house I would probably still remove it lmao, but where I live it is windy, so i see a few large ficuses knocked over on most years
despiert
That is a CHONKY boy.

Manage it? You don’t manage a Ficus that close to a foundation, you negotiate a surrender. That tree is already structural. It’s the tree’s house now; you’re just the tenants.
