Needs more light. I know its in a window but you need to add a grow light as well. These guys are greedy for light.

These plants you have in the pot all grew super tiny and laggy that I’m wondering if this is really the sunlight they get? For how long per day and within the year does it receive sunlight like this? I would expect this kind of growth if it was placed a few meters away from a window that has closed blinds. Have you repotted during this time at all? If not then fixing the light situation won’t be enough. I’m assuming the soil will be more or less dead by now from the plants view. They’re also fighting for survival with each other. Chop and prob, placing them individually and providing them with the kind of light you have in the picture but for most of the day would probably be your best bet in my opinion. Still then it will not become huge but at least it will look healthy and might give you fenestrations at some point.

Which direction is that window facing? Could try a south facing window (if your in the northern hemisphere) for more light.

That soil doesn’t look well. Even in that window it should be growing fine.

Too many plants in one pot. Not enough light

Looks to me like theres too many plants in the single pit if you want big leaves and fenestrations. Repot 1 of those into the same pot. And chop the stem short. It’ll look rough for a bit but should come back healthy.

It’s an east facing window! It hasn’t lived here all it’s life, but it’s always been in front of a window since I’ve had it (someone gave it to me when they were moving out).
I haven’t repotted it ever though…so maybe I’ll try separating the plants as you say and giving them more space.
Can I cut the roots or should I try to keep them all intact?

Mine took 3 years to finally fenestrate. Keep at it!

op do you fertilize

Soil looks spent. Compacted, like it doesn’t hold water very well anymore. Due for a repot I imagine.

This window should have adequate light. How long have you had it in this spot? The leggy growth, I’m assuming, happened before you put it there. It might just take some time to see better-looking growth. It needs to adapt to the new conditions.

Repot in more Monstera appropriate soil, ie a high draining mix (you can easily find a decent recipe online) and swap out the moss pole with something that has more holes so that it can grow aerial roots. Ensure that it is in a drainage pot as well. Start watering with diluted worm tea and give it more light with a grow light.
Ok_Ant_9815
Definitely monstera. Soil looks way too wet and cramped.

i’m not an expert, but maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in. could the ties be hindering its growth? i see aerial roots and it almost looks like a petiole is trying to form where the green/ blue tie is? i could also be mistaken and it looks off to me due to how leggy it is.

Time to defenestrate that one and start over.

The moss pole isn’t in correctly. It needs to be on the other side of the plant, where the aerial roots are growing out.

Bad soil, not enough sun. If that is the sunniest window in your house, keep it there and maybe get a grow light in addition, use a chunky soil mix, this is just soil with lots of additions to help with drainage, and you might want to chop and prop that, because if you do get bigger leaves they can make it top heavy and snap the stems, when cutting, those roots sticking out the side are growing out of nodes, you want to cut just under those nodes and you can place it in water to encourage some more roots, but it also works to just put them in soil too
Dramatic-Strength362
The same reason it’s super leggy, not enough light. You also have multiple plants in the same pot.

Looks like one. Like the rest of the people are saying. Too many in the pot. Not enough light. Change it up and good luck.

Go up like 2 sizes in a pot

Not enough light and nutrients. Not to say you can put it in full sun, it needs long duration of dappled light. I can take this plant shove it into the ground under a tree with dappled shade, and it will grow 2 foot wide leafs in 2 years. If you want to get large fenestrated leafs, you need to transplant it into a bigger pot, fertilize it with half strenght soluble (non organic) fertilizer like miracle grow, and get a srong 60+ actual watt led, for at least 6+ hours, to supplement what you are giving it. It will be unrecognizable.

Well all those like 7-10 plants in there are competing for resources. I would repot them individually or replant all in a bigger pot of chaos. I split mine and they grow happy now. I have babies like yours together in one pot for one year for lack no of room. They are still as small as when I got them. Always baby leaves. The other ones I separated grew 7 on each side within a summer and 3-4 feet tall.

Not enough sunlight. At this point I would cut it at the lowest node and start over. Pot is too small and the soil is too compact. If you can bring it outside during summer, do it.
