Back again – thanks for all the help on my previous posts.

I’m trying to figure out why my tomato is struggling. I had first put a smaller seedling in and it died fairly quickly. I think my nutrients were off or too strong. I rebalanced the nutrients and put a larger seedling in and it has started to slowly struggle.

Now I’m thinking the water temp was getting too high but wanted to poll the audience.

I checked and it was settling around 76F most of the time.

Yesterday I started adding some ice packs to bring it down and will keep doing this till I find a better method.

Anyone hve other ideas on what it could be if not water temp?

How roots looking? Drop ec to 2. And was it growing there from start you you moved it from somewhere else?

That seems high. Mine is at about 1500 and tomatoes are thriving.

I agree with the others. Drop EC to 1.5 or 2. Make sure pH is 5.5 to 6.

The temp is a little high for the water. Try keeping it between 65 to 75 Fahrenheit. Warmer water holds less oxygen. So you might have to crank up the aerator. To help reduce temp, the cheapest option is putting aluminum foil around the top so that way all light is reflected away from the reservoir.

I don’t even feed my peppers that much…

That EC is what is killing it. Dilute it by adding more distilled water
