Is it normal for some to have individual petals sprouting from the middle?

  5. Gorgeous!! I have a few varieties of daisy scattered in my garden, mainly Shasta. This has me so excited for the blooms.

    The tubular white ones look like English daisy, I’m not an expert so I could be wrong – so pretty though

    It’s not necessarily ‘normal’, but it’s not concerning. Asteraceae plants have 2 type of petals (3 actually, but the other isn’t important here). The ray florets are the outer petals and the disc florets form the center. So this flower just had some ray florets pop up in the wrong place

    Something about these makes me deeply uncomfortable. It’s not full on trypophobia but it’s close.
