  1. I love nothing more than seeing a tape measure used while placing something in a circle!!! It drives me crazy to see something off center.

  2. It's so nice to see such a patriotic company naming their plants Independence and Freedom. And Douglas is so sweet! ❤🤍💙😺

  3. I was super lucky a few years ago when I found New Gen Freedom boxwoods at my local big box store (Menards) for only $7.00 each! I bought three and two are doing great in my Chicagoland zone 5b garden 😀I did lose one the first winter because I didn’t water it enough but that’s my fault 🤷‍♀️ I wish Heucheras would do better for me, they are so pretty. Mine get smaller every year except for Palace Purple, I have had that type for at least fifteen years and have actually divided them and now have many of them 😀🪏🪴🌺🌸🌷🌱

  4. Good Morning! 🪻 The containers look so pretty! Love the overview on the Boxwood varieties! The cold frame plants look so good! 😃🪴🥕🌿

  5. Hello, I loved the update on all the boxwoods! I have a question about spider mites. Can you treat the boxwoods with a systemic for the spider mites?

  6. Good morning, Love having you as a morning routine. Always motivating, thank you. A question about your little red barn. I'm a sucker for a cute barn. Why haven't you painted the barn doors? You bless my days.

  7. Thank you! For the boxwood tour! It was so incredibly informative to see that comparison with very detailed descriptions of your experiences of them. Question; is there any particular right or wrong way to prune boxwoods? My daughter purchased a home several years ago that has a large boxwood near her back door. I do not know the specifics about it, but I would love to shape it up for her to keep it nice in its space.
Also, the spring gardens are just glorious. 🤩😍

  8. My first dwarf iris from Sutton Farm is blooming!! It's called aquatini and there will be at least 3 blooms in its first year!! Super excited to see the rest of them.

  9. I thought the leaning evergreen in the pot was the one you planted straight, but that it would need a bit of pruning into even shape.

  10. The arrangement in the middle of the par terre garden with the tree in it is such a messy arrangement for such a curated garden. I think it looks a right mess and is totally inappropriate for such a lovely sleek garden. I don't understand this choice of plants. I literally cringe when I see that mess in there😂sorry it's so unappealing to the eye. I don't get the vision there at all. Love you Laura and your fam, but I bet Aaron thinks it's odd as well, lol you're amazing!

  11. My espoma potting soil/mix looks like ground coconut husks. It does not look like your espoma potting soil. It does not hold water well. Is Espoma potting soil made differently in the Eastern part of the country?

  12. Good morning Laura, I bought two of the Green Mountain boxwood and put them in pots. They are so pretty. I am zone 5. I plan on buying four more of them for my church to put in pots. Got the idea from you. Thank you ❤

  13. So many vegies and herbs are pretty to look at, it is a fun idea for many of us to incorporate them into the ornamental areas. I may not have thought of that otherwise.

  14. I totally agree about growing your own carrots. I had homegrown carrots and store bought carrots mixed together in a meal, and you could definitely taste the difference. Such freshness with homegrown! I grow my carrots in pots on my deck. I live in a condo.

  15. He'll watch daily. And find inspiration frequently and am always interested in seeing the way others do their gardens. It feels as though something has changed. You probably have so much to do with young children and working to support your family financially that All of your pots today seemed like missed opportunities for diversity with the abundance that you have access to, but it's probably just that you love boxwood so much and I see them as a placekeeper when the pot is empty.love The box of dinosaurs made it seem like home

  16. My son is now eleven, and over the years, he would come sit by me when im watching your videos. He doesnt really have an interest much in gardening, but he does always comment on your property being so pretty. This year, the gardening itch must have got him. He has been potting up tree seedlings that we find all over our property. He wants to grow them, and eventually sell them for cheap "so that more people can grow trees and afford it" lol I thought that was cute. So thank you Laura for giving my son a fun interest in planting.

  17. Laura, you are so precious to me!!! “Our” mornings always starts my day with a smile. Laura and coffee…nothing better 🥰

  18. I was kindof shocked when u said u would redo your fireplace and probably tear up your new brick patio and reconfigure that. I’m sure the big brick patio was expensive and is really pretty. Couldn’t a new fireplace be placed at the side of that brick patio instead?

  19. I know how much you love boxwoods, but to me they are maintenance heavy and with all the spider mite problems you have I’m surprised you haven’t found something else. An expensive lesson to learn from each variety. Just my humble opinion on this topic. Everything looks so beautiful in your spring garden.

  20. I ran 1/4” tubing in my vegetable beds. Because of our hard water I have been replacing all of mine this year. Bummer

  21. I have found great satisfaction in using small evergreens in containers. Many of mine are filled with boxwood, globe arborvitae, and topiaries. They bring year round interest to my garden and patio. They are economical and less work then annuals .

  22. Regarding the problems with the Green Tower boxwood-what about Dee Runk as a substitute? I discovered that variety last year and mine are doing beautifully so far-came through the winter about as well as my Green Mountains. Dee Runk has a similar upright habit. Do you have any experience with this variety?

  23. LOVE THE INFO IN THIS VIDEO —– OFF TOPIC FOR THIS VIDEO —- BUT SOMETHING YOU SAID YESTERDAY ABOUT THE "RAIN/WATER FALL" THIS YEAR BEING THE MOST RECORDED IN OREGON HISTORY — YOU'VE SAID BEFORE THAT THE 'SNOW FALL' SUPPLIES YOUR WATER SOURCE SO YOU DON'T PAY FOR WATER…SO HOW DOES THAT WORK??? HOW DOES IT FLOW DOWN THE MOUNTAIN AND BE CONTAINED FOR THE COUNTY TO USE THE WATER….DOES THE CITY PIPE IT IN TO A POUND AND THEN YALL HAVE A PUMP HOUSE TO DISTRIBUTE IT FOR THE HOME AND GARDEN? JUST WONDERING – WHEN LOOKING FOR PROPERTY — THE WATER BILLS IN NORTH CAROLINA IS A **HUGE** BILL HERE – TRYING TO USE GOD'S RESOURCES INSTEAD OF GOING BROKE WATERING PLANTS. THANKS! —– SEND MY LOVE TO BETHANY & LET HER KNOW I MISS HER. 🎀🎀🎀

  24. What about totally encircling the Carolina Sweetheart with the same small round boxwoods that are already there‽ Finished with maybe something flowering, delicate, and showier behind them‽

  25. I love the Carlisle patio set from Frontgate too. A few years back, we purchased several pieces with light blue pillows and white piping. It has held up extraordinarily well, including the cushions which have not faded despite getting several hours of direct sun everyday. Worth the investment!

  26. Good morning! I’m curious, because I’ve heard Aaron mention Jim Putnam before, does he or Laura still watch Jim? I know how much Laura likes seeing other gardens and he’s done some amazing garden tours lately. Just wondering, hope yall have a beautiful blessed day!
