Hey! I bought this Monstera back in January (last pic shows its size back then). Since then, it’s put out two really big leaves, and the most recent one even has its first double fenestration so I’m guessing it’s pretty happy in its new spot by the window

The only thing I’ve noticed is that while the leaves are getting bigger, the plant itself isn’t really growing taller. The leaves seem quite cramped and overlap a lot. The bigger one on the left is actually behind the older leaf in the front. The top one with the double fenestration also looks pretty asymmetrical.

I’m not necessarily complaining. I just wanted to ask if this is normal or if there’s something I should be doing differently. Usually when I see other Monsteras, the spacing between the leaves is much bigger

Sorry if that's a dumb question haha

Thanks in advance!

Yep, normal. If you notice the pattern of petioles growth (like V, the new ones come from the middle) you can estimate how tall it will be when the new leaves emerge. Smaller spaces between nodes is a good thing, means they have good light and don’t need to stretch
