I’m trying to find the cutest plants for my native perennial fairy garden and I’m in 6b – Midwest. just had to shoutout wild quinine (Parthenium integrifolium) aka American feverfew, which looks like little stars made of cottonballs and the perfect plant for a fairy to take a nap on. would love to know what everyone’s favorite cute native plant is!!

Pasque flowers! They come up with little coats on! Pussytoes look adorable, and wakerobin trillium and bloodroot are so whimsical!!
i love dutchman’s breeches, it’s a small woodland spring ephemeral with hanging white flowers
Ok I see you wild quinine! Personally I think hairy beardtongue (Penstemon hirsutus) is cute

Prairie Smoke!
Pearly Everlasting
Honestly, nothing beats Dutchman’s Breeches (*Dicentra cucullaria*) for cuteness imo. I’d only seen pictures of it before I saw it in the wild, and it was so much smaller than I thought it would be!
A lot of the spring ephemerals are overwhelmingly cute though. False Rue Anemone (*Enemion biternatum*), the Hepaticas (*Anemone americana* & *Anemone acutiloba*), Virginia Spring Beauty (*Claytonia virginica*)… I would say American Pasqueflower (*Pulsatilla nuttalliana*) but that plant isn’t cute, rather, it’s *gorgeous* 🙂
Edit: Oh, I forgot some sandy prairie species that are really cute: Lilac Penstemon (*Penstemon gracilis*), Birdfoot Violet (*Viola pedata*), Prairie Violet (*Viola pedatifida*)…
