My AV’s leaves are drooping and curling backward

Hi everyone! I need some help with my Mini African Violet 'Octopus'.

Recently, it hasn't been looking very healthy. The leaves are starting to droop, and they seem to be curling slightly backward/downward.

The top of the soil felt dry today, so I decided to give it some water, but I’m not sure if I made the right move. Is this drooping/curling just a characteristic of the 'Octopus' variety, or is there something wrong with my plant?

I’m really worried and would love to know what it needs right now. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you! 😭
