My boyfriend’s succulent has something resembling sugar on it and also some isopod-like structures that might be the plant’s structures and might be pests
Idk what’s happening here, are those pests or just sand that somehow got on there???
It’s been in the house for half a year and it didn’t have that
Also what’s the succulent’s name?? It’s my first time seeing anything like that and he doesn’t know either

Could be mealy bugs, quite hard to tell from the photos. Does it have any white sort of webbing/fluff on it anywhere? If they are dip a cotton bud in high strength alcohol and nuke them.
Good news first: to help you ID- that’s a crested topsy turvy (possibly Pinky though) echeveria and honestly it’s a beauty!
Crested means that instead of perfectly symmetrical growth it grows like a coral or brain pattern. This is a random mutation and is usually sought after by collectors (I personally love those weirdos and take every one I can get my hands on).
Now the bad news: them right thur are !mealybugs. They are pests and getting rid of them is an ache but totally doable.
Look up any mealybug post in the sub and you’ll get the lowdown on how to handle them. If you can’t find anything reply here and I’ll type it out 😊
Most importantly is quarantine any plant that has this or sticky clear syrup like drops/puddles right away and begin treatment
If it’s white a fuzzy looking it’s mealy bugs, take a Q tip and dip it in rubbing alcohol and dab each one.
