My lovely Arrowhead plant has been propagating in a tall glass water jar for about 1.5 yrs and now I have a 3 foot root system🙃 I was wanting to plant it to get it out of the water but with a root system this long, how do I approach it!?!

I almost feel bad taking it out of water when she’s thriving..

Wow! Look at all that hair 😆. Why leave it for that long?

I think you’ve passed the “propagating” stage a long time ago lol

I’d just keep it in water and start treating it like hydro, give it some synthetic nutrients and make sure the water stays fresh.

At this point I’d treat her less like a propagation and more like a water-grown plant with ambitions. If she’s genuinely thriving, you don’t have to force soil. You can keep her semi-hydro/hydro style with fresh water and a very diluted nutrient routine.

If you do pot her, I’d coil the roots gently into a roomy pot instead of cutting much, use a chunky airy mix, and keep it extra evenly moist at first so the water roots don’t get shocked all at once.

I was just about to stick mine in leca 🙃 I bought a small pink splash and started to repot it today and it has these pretty orange roots so I thought maybe leca? 🤔

Those arrowhead plants sure do fucking love being aquatic. Mine was always the most dramatic about being watered late so I’m not surprised it thrives in just water
