Hi all, I have a patch on the border of my garden from bamboo has just been removed and a barrier put in. I've just found this about a metre beyond the barrier and was wondering if it's a fresh bamboo shoot or could possibly be a bramble as there are a few of those around too. I think i know the answer I just want to be sure before I contact the removal company. This is in the UK, London.

I don’t thin that is bamboo. That is Japanese knotweed. Good if you like pickles, bad if you like it taking over your yard. Sorry.
Looks like Japanese knotweed. Extremely invasive.
False alarm folks, it looks like it’s a bramble, here’s another shoot I can see coming off the bramble right next to it
