So far it look like about 75% of them have come up. This is also the second patch of peas I planted, specifically because the first batch germinated very poorly in a different location in my garden. Good thing we like peas I guess! 😅

If I thin these carefully, what are the odds I can use the thinned ones to fill in some of the gaps for a more even planting? My first year growing peas!

    How old is “really old”?

People be germinating 30 year old seeds on here.

They don’t need to be thinned. They could be planted way more densely.

    They need something to climb.

This theory is how I ended up with 1000 carrots.

Peas? Peas don’t give a f. i found a seed pack left under my deck in a ziplock bag for 2+ years. they sprouted just fine this year.

Ha! Peas have longevity, I planted a pack that was 12+ years old and not kept in a good environment. They moved houses with me, just in original opened pack in a bucket. Every single one germinated.

I’ve been planting from the same open pack of seeds for 4 years, so they always germinate and produce just fine. I have a bamboo triangle/teepee thing for them to climb
