Honestly I don’t think you need to mulch your raised beds. It can create a whole “thing” with nitrogen imbalance in the soil as mulch decays, especially with the nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, etc) that you have in your garden. Maybe consider composting your straw/clippings/etc separately and add that instead if possible? Once it’s broken down to that degree it will be a lot more beneficial to your veggies.

I like throwing some straw down to slow evaporation. I find that wood mulch just becomes a pain and always find myself scraping it out later.
