It’s 8 a.m. You’re thinking about what you can plant in your beds to add some whimsy and magic. And then you remember how the previous home owner thought ivy was a good choice

My neighbor planted nothing but invasive. She finally decided to rip out the ivy. Still keeping the trumpet vine though, at least it’s native i think, but still aggressively invading my yard and gardens.

Previous owners of my house planted ivy AND blackberries in the backyard 😐 It’s a constant battle to keep all the vines under control.

this was me at my last apartment. someone had planted spearmint and orange daylilies that i could never fully eradicate. the orange daylilies weren’t the worst, i guess, but i just hated how rude they were lol… popping up and taking up space where i was trying to plant flowers that had more longevity.

I have thought about the people who will have my houses after me. They will likely hate me. I don’t plant ivy though!

This is me, except I thinking how much more I need to pull.

I’ll raise you invasives with; when we bought our house it was from flippers who bought it from a bank after the woman who owned it passed. The bank had basically come in and did away with everything minus crape Myrtle’s and forsythia? Anyways since we’ve moved in I wanted to use the beds and whole yard. Well in AL the soils already iffy but the beds are full of hand sized rocks slag and broken glass… it’s been super fun hand tilling it lol.

Had this at a previous house. Spent YEARS ripping that stuff up. Finally I had the potentially villainous idea that what if I plant mint there and let them duke it out? It worked. The mint won. And then I sold the house.
