Psychopsis mariposa, purchased from Orchids in your Tropics at the 2025 MOS show and sale. The spike is 110 cm long. I've been told I should stake it, but it's holding itself up well, and growing pretty much how I would stake it, so I'm not sure if it's worth the bother. The plant is growing well, three new pseudobulbs grown in the year I've had it, and two more starting in new branchings of growth. I love that it has interesting patterned leaves too. The leathery texture of them is weird, makes it feel like it's underwatered, but it's normal. It's been a rewarding plant.
And yea, I know not to cut the spike when the flower fades 😂

I love it lol
That second photo literally made me laugh. The spikes on these can be hilariously long. I have to be careful moving mine from room to room to make sure I don’t catch the flowers on the doorway, and I think yours is even taller than mine. But, plant moving logistics aside, they’re great plants, and can be nearly continuously in bloom, especially once you get several spikes going with a little delay between them so that some are blooming while others are preparing their next bud. It’s a really extraordinary plant.
It looks like Mendenhall ‘Hildos’ from the leaves variegation and their spikes are 3′ tall vs Mariposa leaves are green and spikes about 2′.
That is a comically long spike 🤣
