I bought this butter word about 3 weeks ago, I use a grow light on that night, I tried it not keep it in full sun during the day, I use sphagnum moss and a mix of the soil it came in. I use distilled water and I am wondering if I need to use something different for it to grow in? Any advice helps!!!

Was it flowering when you got it or not? Usually flowering is a sign that it’s doing ok, I believe. Could be the temp though. Mine is still in dormancy because it’s been unusually cold for this time of year.
Sphagnum isn’t really a great choice for Mexican pinguicula.
It looks pretty good tbh. The soil sounds fine, I have good luck with spag moss and my butterwort, but I’m not sure if they’re Mexican butterwort or not. But the flowering is a good sign, I see there’s some stuff on the leaves that look like bugs so it seems like it’s getting food. If the weather has been a bit inconsistent, that’s probably the biggest factor imo. But again it doesn’t look sorry really. The older leaves may be in a little shock from the environment change but rest assured the newer leaves coming in all look great imo.
Whats the environment you have it in. Also humidity and do you have it in a water tray? Mine looks exactly like yours, although I dont know the exact species (bargain bin with no tag). I had mine in a controlled environment, 55-65% humidity, 75°, and half inch of water. Its been fine. I recently had to divide it bc it was out growing its original container
