hi, i’m new here. 🙂
i have a golden pothos that’s 5+ years old and i propagate it a LOT. so i figured id start selling some propagation starts in singles as well as in sets of 5 & 10 on facebook marketplace but i have no idea how to price this plant or what it’s worth? what would you price one starter at? (it would have 3 stems in each)
photo is one of my personal pots but these were all propagated from the mother plant. 🌿
thank you! <3
edit: just want to point out that i’m well aware that this is a common plant. my question was about pricing starts to sell LOCALLY since i’ve never sold a plant before & it has been answered. thanks! 🙂
be chill. 🌿

I would start between $2 and $5 a plant. These are common plants.
Golden pothos is so common. It is THE entry level plant into the hobby. If you had 4-5in pots with 5-10 established cuttings in there, you might be able to sell them for $5 each. Maybe.
For comparison, you could walk into a HD or Lowe’s right now and probably find full hanging baskets for $10 or close to it.
It’s hard to say, I’m dealing with this but in potted plants, not cuttings. I will be honest and say I probably wouldn’t pay $5 for cuttings of a golden, maybe $2 for a handful. U can buy a small potted golden pretty much anywhere for $5. That’s the issue I find I’m having. Although since I’m putting it in the proper soil and it’s not rootbound and needing repot when they get it I figure $5 for a 4in pot or smaller. My other plants need to catch up to my golden.
Good luck!
Golden Pothos is probably the most common plant to buy or find- My buy nothing group has clippings of them for free all the time. If you really want to sell, you should get some pothos that are more unique. A snow queen, a neon… I would pay $5 for some well cared for varigated rooted clippings! Maybe some plants that are harder to find or harder to root would earn you more!
