The yard has been struggling the last year too not sure if it’s water or something else these zones get what I feel is an appropriate amount each week, these zones are in a rotary and set for 25 minutes 3 times a week.

I was cutting fairly short I’ve started the last year to let grow a little longer. I do use a company for weed prevention and fertilizer, this year I had a ton of weeds and they came and did a few applications, also wondering if that could cause this.

I spend way too much time out here and just a bit frustrated. Not sure what I’m doing wrong or not enough of.

    time to change your species.
If the grass you grow doesn’t like to grow there, than grow a different grass.
    How old is your grass?
We have 1000’s of different grasses now engineered for different things.

Depends where you are and who you use. I have a lot of fescue yards in a ballsy part of the transition zone and the neighbors guys (tru green, freedom lawns) blast their way through with man and kill part of their lawn every year. If they don’t know your grass type that’s an issue. Also sod webworms, mole crickets are an issue right now. Do the dish soap test in a few spots. Could also be the drought idk where you are though.

So sad, the company who build the development probably had an abundance of native trees the protected that green grass. Set you up to fail.
