Several months ago, I made a bioactive enclosure for my corn snake, and pothos was one of the recommended plants since it thrives in the same temps and humidity as corns.

I found this beauty at my local grocery store on clearance for $4 because it was in a tiny pot and almost dead. I decided to try to save it, brought it home, removed all soil, and cleansed the plant.

I thought for sure I had probably killed it by root shock, but it is thriving in the enclosure (unlike the philodendron I bought healthy at the same time)!

During all of my research for safe plants, it only named it as "pothos". The fact that there are different types was never mentioned.

AND, the pot it came in only said "Pothos 3 in. clay pot".

All 3 photos came from same 3 inch pot.

3rd photo is a piece that broke off during washing, and I replanted in hopes of saving it.

Golden! And $4? That’s a steal! Also, what’s the trouble with your philodendron? I have a few, maybe I could help?
