Why would you use bag mulch and create all that plastic garbage ? My garden similar to size as yours and where we live we order by the yard , dropped on driveway then barrow it and spread on garden. Is that not an option for you ?

Zone 8b-I LOVE Alliums too and they ARE really EXPENSIVE! I only have 5 but they are all up but no blooms showing. We had a lot of rain last week too. Hope they aren’t rotting!😢

What are your grasses? I'm sure you shared when you planted them but I can't remember. I like that they aren't huge but still move with the breeze.
The entire front yard looks picture perfect!!! I love the tightly clipped boxwood mixed with the grasses that are blowing in the breeze. It makes me smile! Would you mind sharing the name of the grass please?

I love alliums. We planted probably 50 -60 two years ago, and this spring, only 3 plants came up. They either rotted in the ground or animals got them. I don't know what happened to them.
Do you ever have boxwoods turn brown after you have trimmed them? There hasn’t been too much sun here, ha. In Seattle area.

I am having the same issue with my Colorblends Ambassador Alliums. I have 2 areas with 13 bulbs apiece. They are planted behind hydrangeas and roses. Some in each group have growing bulb heads. For others, the allium heads are not showing yet. The size of the plants (foliage) are all the same. They all came up at the same time, but some have not actual flowers coming out yet. Odd.

I call it Allium season, mine are popping everywhere, I have white, light lavender, a dark pinky purple, they are all BEAUTIFUL!
When your alliums are spent, you can cut a paper plate to wrap around the stem and spray paint them purple to keep them around longer
Just beautiful and a lot of hard work.
