This is my first order from MCG (Mountain Crest Gardens). I ordered the variety pack (20 succulents, 20 species-1 each). Instead of receiving 20 species I received multiple duplicates. Should I be disappointed? Because I am kinda but I don’t want to make a fuss. Pictures: 1. What I ordered 2. What I got 3. Duplicates circled…. The ones I was really excited about are the ones missing 😭 more than half are duplicates.

I have no knowledge but just because of the fact it says 20 species you need to contact them

you should be very disappointed. wtf, the portulacaria afra and the echeveria and that tiny bubbly sedum in the third row are completely missing 💀

I honestly would assume that is what they would do in this case. It’s a very dishonest but probably effective way to offload the worst props from your nursery in bulk instead of tossing them.

Is the pack meant to have exactly what’s pictured or is it a random pack and the pic is just an example? Still shouldn’t be duplicates but just wondering.

I found this in the product description for the item you bought.

“Hand-picked variety: 6-20* different species or cultivars of Sempervivum, Sedum, and other hardy varieties. *Limited seasonal availability for 20-Pack”

Yeah you got dupes. Not cool. I wouldn’t personally ask for anything different but I’d put the word out to avoid this company.

I’m being kind of honest MCG sucks, my first order half the succulent had some kind of fungus and in general weren’t very healthy succulents, if you want some actual healthy well taken care of succulent i recommend succielife on instagram, they always have the best quality plants

Yeah that’s absolutely false advertising. 100% contact support and try to get some compensation.

Even though what you received does not match the photos provided, if they say 20 different varieties, you should get 20 different varieties. You should let them know.

Yeah I don’t order from them anymore, the last two orders most died for seemingly no reason. The nail in the coffin for me… A $40 not even large (though large was advertised) rainbow echeveria arrived basically black, leaves falling constantly, it also had stem rot. They refused to refund or replace because “it had enough leaves left” to be considered a plant worthy of a $40 price tag, according to them, hilarious. I spent months trying to save it, even after beheading the barely there growth point and it kind of rooting, it died later.

They look really healthy and nice to me.

I’ve always been afraid to buy packs like this. I’m sorry :/

I’ve ordered from there once and never will again. Get a refund or have them shipped you the missing plants.

I see lots of folks saying they don’t order from them anymore. I did because they were more consistent and affordable than Etsy sellers. Can you recommend some alternatives?

As a regular buyer of succulents for a retail greenhouse, it doesent look unusual for an “assorted succulent” purchase. But if the details of the site/item really says (read csrefully, possible tricky language) 20 species one if each i would ask for a refund.
