I have these two beautiful gymnocalyciums, and the one with the white flowers opened up a few days before the yellow one. I hope that at least one of these will take.
Does anyone have any experience doing this? What can I expect the baby cacti to look like once I plant the seeds?
Edit: thanks to u/AndreiAZA, it looks like I'm dealing with a gymno and a notocactus. My dreams have been shattered, but I'm glad I know the exact variety I have

I didn’t even know you could do this. (Makes sense though)
I’m on year two of having a some around. Starting easy and small bc I live in a small apartment but they’re so cute and pretty. I’d love to eventually be able to do something as cool as cross pollinate.
Also, great username.
Rock on, good luck!
I’m terribly sorry, but the one with a yellow flowers isn’t a gymno, its’s a notocactus of some kind, my best bet is a notocactus uebelmannianus flaviflorus, or a similar species.
I don’t know how closely related gymnos and notocactus are, so I’m not sure they can be hybridized the same way lobivias, echinopsis and trichocereus can.
One of those is a Parodia
I use a small paint brush, but sure.
Looks like a parodia with the yellow flowers so definitely not possible to cross polinate them
