Just showing off my little accidental JM nursery. Have these little guys popping up all over my front yard. Biggest is probably three feet and in the shade of my large Oak tree. Others are are only 6-8 inches tall scattered through the Pachysandra in my front yard.
Plan right now is to let them develop where they are then once sufficiently bigger move them to pots. Probably a five year plan at minimum.
I think these all are from a few larger Japanese maples up the street.

My parents property gets wildly seeded with no less than 3 cultivars. I’m sure they’re coming from neighbors yards but, still…. Free JM’s.

Dug this little twin trunk back in 2022. Im not sure of the exact cultivar (maybe bloodgood or Rhode Island Red? I honestly don’t care that much.)
airlayered both tops off last year. So, 3 trees.
That’s sweet! Hoping some of these guys do something cool like that. But I have thought about tying all the similarly sized ones into a forest style.
