If you were at Central Park this weekend, chances are you heard sirens, saw kids climbing on fire trucks, or walked away with a new plant or puppy.
The 15th annual KHTS Home and Garden Show and Emergency Expo returned Saturday and Sunday, drawing crowds from across Santa Clarita for a weekend packed with local vendors, hands-on activities and community connections.

With more than 400 vendors set up across the park, the free event offered everything from backyard design inspiration and solar solutions to handmade treats and unique crafts – all from most businesses rooted right here in the Santa Clarita Valley.
For some vendors, it was a chance to grow something new.
Julie Altus, owner of Dip and Drizzle, was attending just her third event ever – first time at the Home and Garden Show – and soaking in every moment.
“It’s been super cool,” Altus said. “This is the best way to get your business out there to people you wouldn’t normally reach.”
She said one of the highlights has been connecting with families already thinking ahead to birthdays and celebrations, with some even coming back for more after their first taste.
For others, the show is a tradition.

Anna Chavez, co-owner of “For the Love of Cacti,” said her team has been coming to the event for more than 10 years and it’s all about the relationships.
“We have customers who come every year just for us,” Chavez said. “They bring pictures of their plants and show us how they’re doing.”
But the weekend wasn’t just about shopping, it was also about connection.
Local organizations like the Boys & Girls Club were out talking with families and answering questions about programs and opportunities for kids.
“Community is important, and events like this really bring people together,” said Sean Evans, a site coordinator with the organization.
And for kids some of the biggest hits were the interactive exhibits.

At the Placerita Canyon Nature Center booth, visitors got an up-close look at wildlife, including snakes, pelts and other hands-on learning experiences.
“People love coming by to see the animals and learn something new,” said docent Bill Weber.
Beyond the booths, the event had that unmistakable small-town feel – even in a growing city.
“It’s one of those events that’s really a highlight of the year,” said Corey Nathan of the Santa Clarita Valley Business Group. “It shows how connected this community really is.”
From first-time vendors to longtime favorites, the KHTS Home and Garden Show once again delivered a weekend where neighbors met neighbors, businesses met customers and the entire community showed up to have fun.
