Title says it all- Please help diagnose and treat this baby.
Watering: Bottom watering with a wick, I never top water this baby and the wick is constantly skimming or slightly dipped in water.
Light: Under a Barrina T5 for 12 hours a day.
This is my favorite plant by far and this brown spot really caught me by surprise. If you take a look at the pictures it’s grown a bit overnight (pic one compared to pic two)
Also – this leaf is pushing out a new leaf, shown in pics, which is coming out quite healthy.
Is this new leaf stress? Pest damage? Root rot?
Thanks for any help 🙂

It looks fungal to me.
I would clean that area really well and cut out that little section of leaf in hopes that it’s just that spot and hasn’t spread yet
I hardly respond to these anymore bc of the inevitable downvotes.
Thrips. The interior placement, silver sheen, larvea carcass (please correct me if I am mistaken), all on the newest most juicy leaf are indicators of thrips.
Diatomaceous earth and Sulphur powder are my weapons of choice. Other users will tell you to use systemic, neem oil, or spinosad (I do not recommend any of those).
It’s just something that happens with aurea parts of the leaf sometimes. I usually notice it when I over water. Those parts of the leaf are weaker and it will brown. This is not thrips damage or spidermites so don’t worry about that.
I actually wouldn’t use a self watering wick method with a monstera is in aroid mix like this. Monstera are the types of plants you err on the side of dry.

This was slightly over watered one time and it developed brown edges and this annoying little spot.
Hi, hope the plant gets well. I also have the same spot and probably is either too mutch direct light of too much water. All the best
