I posted last month with a retaining wall I had started. I’m pretty much finished expected for a layer or two of everlasting weed barrier and a few rows of Cyprus trees (lol)
Ended up back filling with clean crushed 18-20” (~10T total) and grid on the 3rd and 5th course. I did a redneck 90 becuse I had no corner blocks; it’s battered/connected to the last block then I made it fancy.
I’m happy with how it turned out. I can’t stop seeing failing walls when I ride around my neighborhood (bowing, leaning forward, bulges, structural cracks) And big thanks to this community – overturned walls were my the motivation to keep hauling gravel. But as my buddy who works in construction said, looks good but we’ll see in 5 years!

I needed to see this retaining wall after seeing the other monstrosity on this sub today.
I have a similar style hill in my back yard and want to do something like this – any advice?
