I bought one of those, it worked horribly for us. Not going to lie, it could have been user error but I just couldn’t get the blades to rotate while mowing for more that a second or 2. Replaced it with an electric one which works brilliantly.
You need to dethatch or topdress. Some plant hire places have dethatchers or aerators.
But seeing you’ve got a few lumps and bumps I’d topdress, the thatch should compost in the topdress.
