I'd like to do something with this little patch of grass. Any ideas or thoughts come to mind? Its a shady spot if that matters.

Have you a shed? If so I’d be tempted for a greenhouse as not much will grow there.

Wildflower meadow
dig it out and cover with pebble on top of a weed barrier. no maintenance except spray the weeds once or twice.
Give it a good dig and seed monthly with native meadow and wildflower seeds. Yellow rattle too, it will kill the grass and stop it choking the flowers out.
Grow some berry bushes , they like partly shadowy places , and wind protected
