I don’t use slug/snail pellets because they kill worms in soil ☹️. Copper tape only works for a short while. Beer traps are high maintenance.

On the bright side, it’s how I can tell how many springs each cactus has been through

Yeah I just go slug hunting at night when I get a chance. I’m not a fan either.

You put the sluggo away from the plants. Never put it near what you are trying to protect. They attract slugs and shouldn’t be put in the soil.

Slug hunt at night and skewer one on a spine. It sends a message and others won’t come back

DE. Might make the plants look less desirable to your eyes but will 100% make them not a tasty treat for the snails.

Try placing a cup of beer (Budweiser works best for me) near where the snails are most. They’ll go to have a drink and drown.

I wonder if this would work? Its flexible so it would move as the cactus grows. It’s a tube of copper mesh. If the cactus is small enough you could cut a piece and slip it on, or just wrap some around the base.
