Don’t mind the weeds, they are a work in progress. We bought these 6 gallon blueberry plants about a month ago from Costco but haven’t planted yet because we are unsure of the best location. Our yard is fenced in on all sides and directly south facing. We are in zone 7 and get really hot afternoon sun in the summer. Should we plant along the east side of the house where they will get lots of morning and midday sun but not the hot afternoon sun or do they want that hot afternoon sun? Thank you!

They want as much sun as they can get, with late afternoon sun being the weakest, midday sun and morning are best to avoid mildew & give energy. All that said – I recommend putting them wherever the dear won’t eat them 😂

I have 2 blueberry bushes I bought same time. One I planted in soil, amended the soil with acidifier, dug a big hole, etc.. and one I have in a 15 gallon pot with combo peat moss and potting soil. The one in my pot is thriving and the one in soil is a runt. So, since controlling the soil ph is so critical for blueberries, I would recommend using pots, 15+ gallon. But thats just my experience.
