I would not compost next to My wall, but IDK If it really hurts.
Along with eliminating the fire hazard of being close to your house, moving it to a spot the sun can reach can help the compost do compost faster. Depends on your location though, if it’s a dry, hot place then shade is your friend lol
U don’t need a cage. Just make a pile. The cage will be in the way when u want to flip it
