RECOMMENDATION: When installing a drip irrigation system, it is best to source all parts through a single manufacturer, such as Drip Depot, to ensure all parts are compatible instead of trying to piece a system together with multiple brands. It will also be cheaper to order directly from a manufacturer since they offer bulk pricing. Once the core distribution system is in place, things like dripline, blank tubing and barbed fittings are fairly universal, so if those items wear out overtime or you need to expand those items, they can be purchased retail.

You got me thinking about it. What about successive beds? Also for winterization in southern Ohio do I need to remove lines & tubes in fall before annual freezing temps?
Awesome. I will try this. I want to make sure it'll work well for tomatoes and peppers and cucumbers, first. What is best way to go with corn? Same kind of setup? Thank you.
Excellent professional installation and video. I am a retired highway and utility contractor and was licensed for irrigation waterlines and fire lines. My irrigation system is set up similar to yours except that I did dead end the tubing with goof plugs. The main line tubing has very little pressure loss from friction. I could not tell any measurable drop in pressure and water coming out the emitters on only an 8 foot run. However, if I were to redo it, I would do it exactly like you demonstrated.
Great vid, but how many garden beds can you actually irrigate off of the pressure of one water line coming from the house?
Love this! Husband just watched with me and we're going all in! Thank you for the clear tutorial and link! A question…we get hard freezes…how do you drain the lines at winter without completely disconnecting everything? Or is that the best way to drain them? TIA!
Lets see some links for that $. Terrible video. SPAM
I finally finished my drip system 🎊🎉 myself=elderly, and my sister=elderly managed to get the trenching done, place all drip lines to multiple small containers, troughs and main 12×4 beds x 2….whew that was sooooo hard…it is done!! Trenches are all filled and flat again all beds now water on a timer 🕺🏼💃🏼 10 years my friend!! Arizona heat no bake old woman again!!! I had to plant out my starts and weaving through fully planted beds very hard to do as I have it chicken proofed so climb up climb down, up, down, up down…….I need to nap for a few days!!
Most of my stuff is in-ground, but I would love to have raised beds like those!
Not exactly $5 is it, come on. Not even going to continue watching.
HELP Anthony! Great video. I set my 4×8 grow boxes up last year on a drop system. 6 inch emitters spaced 6 in apart. (From the drip Depot). I need help with how long to water. Please make a video. I think last year I watered way too much. Mathematically I know how much water is coming out of each hole but it just didn't look right and my garden did not produce very well. Please help.
Diy $5 drip irrigation grid but only if you already spent $300 on 99% of the parts you need to make this grid for only $5 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing this information. I am planning to install drip irrigation and this video is definitely helpful. I may have missed one thing. I have a question – why both ends of the 1/4 inch dripping line need to be connected to water sources? I mean now it has water pressure from both ends. TIA!
Do you put it on a timer, and if so, when and how long do you water?
way, way more than $5
Just had to come on here and say you inspired me and I've finally done it. I have irrigation supplies on the way and am hoping to install in the next week or 2.
This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve ever seen on irrigation setup. Irrigation kits from Amazon don’t cut it for me; the step-by-step instructions here helped me figure out how I needed to lay out my irrigation lines. Millennial Gardener is now my go-to guy for all gardening advice! Keep up the good work.
How on earth are you calling this $5?
Brilliant! I'm definitely going to re-vamp my own system this year.
Great info, thank you
Ok, where did the five dollars come in here? Maybe you forgot the zeros
Love this!!!
I also used the wrong barrier and have to replace it this year.
Im trying to find a video on how to run a hose or line from house to garden.
It’s about 20 feet. I can use a Y at the house and bury the tube/hose but don’t know how to end the line in the garden and stabilize it so it doesn’t get pulled up.
I live in a rocky area and am not sure how far I can bury the hose.
Would love any links or info that can be provided.
Thank u!!!
1991, I built a raised bed, 4'x35'x30" using 2 x 8 redwood. I filled it with only expensive worm droppings, (probably a mistake). I used a 75' soaker hose, buried it 6", looped to run the length twice, on a timer, on twice/day, morning, afternoon, in a hot climate, Folsom, CA. It worked fine for 16 years. After 13 years I stopped composting and just spread 15-1, shredded leaves in the fall, 4" thick, on my winter cover crop. I'll never compost again. For trees, I would use wood chips + shredded leaves to convert from bacterial to fungal soil.
I've been gardening adjacent for 70 years. I never did drip because it seemed fiddly. You did make it look easy. Of course the orange multi-tool makes a huge difference.
As far as a pressurization issues, they make pressure compensating drip line so you don’t have to do what you’re doing with having two ends connected
Good advice. However, I just spent $200 setting mine up. $5 did buy my beer that I drank as I set it up. Thanks and cheers
Equalization is an excellent point. Changed my thinking on why it should be done this way.
You can heat the tubing with a blow dryer or a heat gun make it a lot easier
The “U” shape inside the bed is a great idea. But what parts were you referring to with the $5 description?
