*Monotropa uniflora* (ghost pipe amongst other names). Fascinating plant. Parasitic on fungi closely associated with beech trees specifically. No chlorophyll at all as it gets its energy from the fungi, not the sun like most plants. The leaves are also basically reduced to scales that usually wrap around the stem but sometimes fold out like you can see in your photo.
