I like this plant, but it is now growing at a right angle for the window and sun exposure. Is there anything I can or should do?

Well, its growing towards the light, so aside from moving it and increasing the light, nothing that won’t stop it from continuing to do this.

That plant in particular is very toxic to pets. I have one and it is in a cage because one of my dogs ate a leaf and got pancreatic issues that required vet care. I just mention as I see you have kitties. But as for the plant, I would recommend chopping off them all and replanting them to have a smaller plant that you can place wherever you prefer and shape up. They look really healthy and apparently they want to live.

you could move it right in front of the window but I love how funky this is I personally would leave it, it’s so unique!

I think it looks fantastic as it is. The shape is frenetic and dramatic and fun. I’d let them grow another year. Then move the pot to the right about 18 inches so they have to start bending back the other direction to get the light. You’ll have some crazy zig zaggy stems!

Move it closer to the light lol. How much more clear can it be telling you!

Your supposed to rotate every few months so it grows evenly toward the light. But they are fun looking like this and I would leave it. We had multiple pets and I have two of these and they never messed with them.

  7. I love it. It’s a living sculptural art piece.

dont chop it! part of the charm of large dracaena marginata is the wild shapes it attains over time.

if you have cats just make sure it’s positioned in such a way that they can’t reach it – it’s toxic so you dont want them eating it but a single bite wont do much harm. just keep the leaf parts out of their reach to be safe.

i would just leave it and let it do it’s own crazy thing. i always wanted a big crazy one like this.

If I tried to get my plant to grow into this crazy configuration, it would never do it!

That looks like it should be in a Dr Seuss house

It’s telling you exactly what it needs. More light

I love these plants when they grow weird. It needs more sun, but its cool the way it is.

Put it in front of the light source or get a grow light to supplement

I just love how they look like nosey neighbors. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’ve been using armature wire to shape mine to grow how I want it to! The stems are very flexible! With time one might be able to convince it to grow in a full loopdey loop. I find them very customizable

I would allow it to exist, that thing is awesome

It’s telling you quite clearly that it wants more light. At this point, chop it shorter and move it on front of the window so it will regrow without stretching.
