Picked this up today at an Ecuagenera/Brooklyn Horticulture pop-up in Brooklyn for $55 and I’m honestly obsessed with it.

But now I’m going down the rabbit hole and seeing these go for $100+ (even $150–$200??) on Palmstreet which feels kind of wild.

Curious what people here think:

Did I get a fair deal, or is this one of those plants where Palmstreet pricing is just inflated from auctions/hype?

For context:

This one is established and already pushing new growth

Not a tiny prop

Really good price~ I sell mine a round this size between 60-80 locally. The price is definitely coming down and I don’t think it should be selling anywhere near $200 anymore now that they’re more accessible. A lot of that was hype and just not many being propped

It’s hype and newness. A lot of new plants start really high and drop quickly as they become more available. Begonias mostly prop really easy and everything about Lamoon sounds amazing and solid. I’ve been waiting for the prices to lower as I’m not buying it directly from the breeder.

Palmstreet is also nuts. I’m shocked at some of the prices of begonias that have been around. I wonder if there’s an upswing of popularity for begonias. Ecuagenera is also priced to move. I picked up some nice, really well priced orchids from at a popup a year ago.
