i picked up this strawberry shake off facebook marketplace this morning! definitely needs repotted and properly supported, but what do i do with all the aerial roots?
the top leaves don’t have as much variegation, as the guy said he moved it to a darker location around the time those were growing. should i prop and chop the top bit to try to get more variegation growing from the bottom and new variegated growth from the top once it’s rooted?

Your plant looks sick. It has a general appearance of a distressed plant. Maybe spider mites/thrips? Not sure. Rinse it off and dry the leaves by hand to remove any stubborn mites with the friction of the cloth on the leaf, (pay special attention to the base of the leaf where it meets the stem) spray it with some neem oil and keep it out of direct sun and away from your other plants. Repeat the wash and spray next week. I would repot it as it’s been chronically dehydrated it seems, judging by the stems. Should look like a new plant in a week or so.
Chop that thing up and make more plants. Its more root than stem or leaf
If you’re comfortable I just would chop and prop, I got a mostly reverted strawberry shake, cut it to each node, let it callous, and the shoved em in a prop box, all the babies are coming out with bright varigation and most of the nodes and props made it. I can show u pics if you’re interested!!
