Zone 6b. Didn’t even start egregiously early but my tomato plants are getting huge. Currently in 6” pots. Can they last 3 more weeks without up potting? I have like 14 plants across varieties and would love to not do it if avoidable.

You better put them in a bigger pot and pray!

is it the pot or the soil that you want to avoid? Because you could possibly use plastic to extend the current pot up and add more soil to bury the stem.

  3. They’re kinda already at the point where they would get a little stunted. Almost turn into a bonsai.

This year I’m leaving some in smaller pots just because I don’t have room and I germinated extras. After about 4 weeks, so far they are half the size of the ones that went into their 15 gal grow bags.

Since you have a shorter growing season than my own 9a, yeah I’d recommend getting as much growth as you can. And 3 weeks is a lot for tomatoes at this stage.

That’s also the point i am at and am hoping so.

I have planted tomatoes the same time the last 3 years. I finally made myself a note on my planting dates to start at least 2 weeks later. They no longer fit under the grow lights.
