This is my dad’s garden. We’ve all grown up so the trampoline was removed years ago and the garden remains undisturbed for much of the year. Used to be mostly grass. And as much as my dad likes to mess around in the garden, hes older and busier and nothing much gets done other than a mow which i always try hold off lol. Because if we hardly use the garden then i think we should clean it up and give it to nature.
Lots of spanish bluebells / hybrids currently which i want to tackle, and along with that, probably isnt the best wild area but i love seeing it still. I’d love to make a wildflower patch somewhere or under the fig tree, and prune the trees as well. And make a small pond for dragonflies if that’s possible.
I’ve been going around with a plant identifying app to see what kinda plants are around as well as seeing a couple bees and butterflies and ladybirds. Its really therapeutic to see how lively it is and how things change over the seasons.

100% still a valid garden. There’s no set definition, it’s what you want it to be.
My kind of garden. Great for wildlife too!
The bluebells still support pollinators. They’re more of an issue where there are wild populations of English bluebells nearby or if they’re outcompeting what you want in a border.
There’s a really interesting study which suggests that native populations are holding up outside of contact zones (where non-native and hybridised bluebells are planted in close proximity to native ones):
