Starting from scratch, I’m looking to build out the flower beds (3-4ft deep) that surround my backyard. I have drip irrigation installed but I would like to stick with native plants. The area gets dappled light under a live oak canopy, so between that and being shaded by the fence I’m looking for shade-tolerant and somewhat drought tolerant plants.
I’ve seen all the hype about Turk’s Cap on here, I’ve also read up on dwarf yaupon, autumn sage, monkey grass, and New Guinea Impatiens.
What would you recommend for native, low-maintenance options that can handle shade/partial sun?
