Should I make any changes to where I’m planning to chop? I’ve had this plant for 7+ years. Last year I repotted with Reddit recommended chunky soil mix and I’ve noticed immediately on watering the water is coming out of the bottom. I don’t think this is a good sign. also any notes on chopping below/above the marks where old leaves were?

After chopping I will leave the bottom piece in soil. Top piece gets dried out then placed into water? Wait until the roots get roots then I can repot Separately.

I see people say to steak/bind your plant and now some aren’t.

I’ve seen some guidance not to chop lower than two thirds of its height, to prevent shock. It probably depends on the plant and its microclimate tho. I’m too chicken and only chop top one third of the leaves at one time — it needs leaves to produce energy to grow

    Drainage sounds excellent!
