Last year I fixed up my Grandma’s flower beds. Her Iris’s were taking over & needed pulled back. I asked if I could take some (basically the cull), to which she readily agreed. I planted them as soon as I got home. Unsurprisingly, they didn't bloom that year. They were also 1/3 the size they are now.

Gma told me she got them from *her* Grandmother, coincidentally named Iris. These flowers have been in the family for at least 5 generations. I call them Iris^2. It's easier than saying Great Great Grandma Iris’ Irises.
