It’s been two weeks since I was last in the garden and there has been SO MUCH GROWTH! Is your garden further ahead than you would expect for this time of year??🌱🌱🌱

Take a walk with me through my tiny April garden to see just how much fruit, veg, and spring colour you can pack into a very small space. This month the garden is full of life — from early harvests to beautiful blooms — and buzzing with bees thanks to all the pollinator‑friendly plants I’ve tucked into every corner.

In this tour, I’ll show you:

-How I maximise productivity in a small garden
-The fruit and vegetables already growing in April
-The spring flowers adding colour and structure
-The plants I use to make the space bee‑friendly
-How edible gardening and ornamentals can work together beautifully

If you enjoy small‑space gardening, cottage garden plantings, or creating a wildlife‑friendly garden, you’ll love this month’s tour.

  1. There`s certainly a lot happening in your garden. I`m only learning about permaculture, but I think mulch is very important. And there`s also something about different plants having different requirements, and maybe root lengths, so taking water and nutrients from different levels under the soil. And the roots of perennial plants remaining in the soil, maintaining the structure, and reducing water loss that way.

  2. Blossom is so fleeting isn't it. ❤ I tend to water my little mini orchard frequently in the summer. I've put a thick bark mulch all around the garden. Add a tiny bit of marmite to your slug beer traps.

  3. Gosh, those Forget me nots are so pretty! I You have lots going on, so lovely. I vote yes on the herb bed. I love cooking with my homegrown herbs and always announce my achievements when I serve dinner. Hoorah for the clearance seedlings! I now have some large swaths of sedum that have grown from tiny pieces that have hitch hiked in on other plants. They really want to grow. Thanks for sharing an update, wonderful to see the progress in the garden and with the seedlings! 💕😊🌱🌱🌱🌱

  4. Great garden tour and lots of lovely plants, love the random Pak Choi and your large planter filling technique as great way to save money on compost 👍🌱

  5. Wow it’s all looking fantastic Amanda 🎉, we had a wonderful hot day yesterday but luckily back to liveable weather 😂, Ali 🇨🇦
