    But I can tell you those white things they’re moving are their brood, so watch which direction they’re heading in because they’re either evacuating an old nest or setting up shop in a new one

    That’s Pheidole dentata, one of our native big-headed ants. I let these stay, as large colonies help buffer some against the fire ants. They do tend aphids, though, so it’s a mixed bag whether you want them in the garden.
