This is my cousins fiddle. She’s postpartum and can’t care for her fiddles as much right now, because shes’s caring for her newborn right now.
I’m noticing that some of its leaves are yellowing. Could it be dry? Could we need to repot in some new soil? I’m willing to do whatever.
She said I could chop it wherever, if needed.
Thank you 🫶🏼

If it were me, I’d chop all three branches to just above the lowest set of leaves, ditch the support stick, make sure that pot isn’t sitting in water inside the outer pot (water until you see it flowing freely from the bottom, but don’t let it sit in the excess water). Water when the dirt is dried out in the top third, use your finger to check, not a water meter. Feed it up once you chop it, put the chopped branches in water after you dip them in hormone powder if you want to start them up as new plants. You could top-dress by adding new soil on top, which might help, and make sure you’re fertilizing this spring. It will take some time but you would be surprised how happy this tree will be soon.
