It’s a mix of leftover lettuce, shredded celery, beets, carrot, apples, etc from a juicer, egg shells, and espresso/ coffee grounds

Just need some dead leaves and you’re making soil

  2. crownoftheredking

yes, you will need a lot of browns to balance that out though

  3. IDooDoodAtTheMasters

That is amazing composting material. Mix in an adequate volume of browns and you’ll have a hot pile and excellent end product.

Oh yeah especially the coffee grounds and egg shells. Generally speaking as long as there’s not any meat or dairy in it, it’s fine. I compost everything you listed from my own garden

Basically what you have posted is: “Completely new to money but I get free gold from my job is that ok?”
But seriously, adding for dead leaves, dead/dry lawn clippings or straw and you’re set.

Dude holy shit that’s such good material. You could legitimately make enough soil over time that it becomes a side gig

The coffee grounds and egg shells are gold. Like others have said you need some browns, like leaves or regular brown cardboard, which I imagine you could probably get at work.

Crush up those eggshells and they’ll decompose much faster.

  9. bikes-and-beers

Do yourself a favor and crush up the eggshells into small pieces. They’ll break down either way, but they can take a long time if you toss them in whole.

  10. Contrary to what some people advise egg shells are calcium carbonate and will take forever to decompose. Smash them up with a 2×4 and them will have the same benefit as adding grit.

Grind those eggshells to dust. Want all the surface area.

For more fun, get a compost thermometer and a screen so you can have a finished product.
    Um, we’re all envious bruh

This is a fantastic feedstock for compost! Now you just need a source of carbon (“browns”). Think things like leaves, wood chips, shredded screened cardboard (no tape or plastic), etc.

There’s some risk of the egg shells attracting rats, but yeah. This is perfect.

When people say “browns” they mean something ideally more dry and carbon-rich than the rest of your compost. If you have access to grass clippings, that would do it. If your compost smells bad, you need more browns.

You might not need it. This all seems very high fiber.

Thats gonna be crazy hot if mixed in with enough browns. If I use my slowjuicer and pulp 20+ fruits i see a major temp spike in my tumbler.
Ur haul is like 20 times that amount.
U might be close to making organic rocket fuel.

As long as there’s no meat, you’re good to go. Just check with the workplace on whether they’re ok with you taking it. Chances are they might even collect the stuff for you to take.

You need wood chips. Nothing else comes close. Call all the local tree service companies and you can get them for free but need the room. Follow dr Elaine inghams protocol.
